Camping
Overnight under the stars at a campsite overlooking the dam, with access to the conservancy.
Some guests want walls and linen. Others want the dam at their tent flap and a fire after dark. Sangare Conservancy keeps a simple campsite on the high ground above the water, with the conservancy open to those who sleep there.
The site is booked in advance — at least a day’s notice, through the conservancy office. You get an area to pitch, two showers with hot and cold water heated by firewood, two long-drop toilets, and wood for the evening fire. A helper lights the fires and can guide walks. There is no power point for charging phones. You bring tents, lighting, drinking water, soap, and the rest of a camp kitchen.
If you would rather not carry kit, stay in a cottage at Aberdare Corridor and still spend a day on the conservancy — or let us mix the two, with a night under canvas for those who want it. Camping fees sit alongside daily conservancy charges; we can explain the current rates and help you write to bookings@sangare-conservancy.com. For a softer bed and the same views, our rooms are ready when you come back.
